This letter is to notify you about the current status of your legal retainer. I am pleased to inform you that Mr. Samuel Baker has agreed to be your legal retainer and is willing to serve you in legal matters. He will be legally assisting you to recollect the debt from your borrowers. I am sharing the terms proposed by him to you so you may give your final thought to it. Please read the terms carefully and let us know if you want to avail of the services. The terms are as follows:

  1. Mr. Samuel Baker will be serving as a legal retainer for Ms. Hannah Morris for x hours per week.
  2. The fee to use the legal services and advice is $ X. This is an hourly fee and to be calculated for every hour spent including the extra hours not mentioned in the contract. The fee will be paid via cash by hand. No online transaction should be made. 
  3. This contract will be valid from 30th December 20xx till 5th Feb 20xx. 
  4. Most of the work be done or supervised by him, but assistance may be taken from other lawyers.
  5. The services include legal documentation, sending legal notices and filing the case in court. If services will be availed other than the mentioned above, a separate fee will be charged for each service.

Kindly read the clauses carefully. If you agree to the terms please sign the copy of this letter and send it to me within 10 days of receiving this letter. This letter is to inform you that I am interested to serve as a legal retainer for you. However, to start the work, we need to sign a legal retainer agreement letter. I am sharing the terms and conditions of the agreement with you in this letter so you may read them before signing the agreement. 

The terms and conditions are as follows:

  1. I will work for x hours per week
  2. The fee is x $ and will be charged hourly. All extra hours are to be paid too.
  3. The service only includes the making and legal documentation.
  4. This contract will be valid from 5th December 20xx till 5th Feb 20xx.
